The Fürstenlager State Park is the former summer residence of the Landgraves and Grand Dukes of Hesse-Darmstadt, built around 1790, located in Bensheim-Auerbach on the Bergstraße. It is managed by the State Palaces and Gardens of Hesse.
In the park, which covers approximately 46 hectares and is designed around a mineral spring, there are stately houses, monuments, and garden temples, as well as a number of outbuildings arranged in the form of a traditional village. The park itself is one of the early English gardens in Germany. It is embedded in the hilly landscape and is home to, among other things, 50 exotic trees and shrubs, including one of the oldest giant sequoias in Germany. The ensemble of garden art has largely been preserved in its original form and today serves the population of the Rhine-Main region as a recreational area.
