The Großwelzheim Bathing Lake, also known as Weißsee or Weilsee, is a lake near Karlstein am Main in the district of Aschaffenburg in Lower Franconia. It is a gravel pit lake that originated as a brown coal open pit and was later converted into a gravel pit.
The Großwelzheim Bathing Lake is located in the Großwelzheim Tannenwald between Karlstein and Kahl am Main, within the district of the place named Großwelzheim. The lake, with a water surface of about 12 ha, is part of the Kahl Lake Plateau. The federal highway 8 runs along the southwestern shore, and behind it lies the natural monument Langer See. To the west, behind the railway embankment, is the Hörsteiner See, and there is a campsite directly at the Großwelzheim Bathing Lake. At the eastern end, the Weiß gravel plant is still in operation.
