The Dachs I project is an unfinished underground relocation of a lubricating oil refinery to the Jakobsberg near the train station in Porta Westfalica. This U-relocation had been part of the so-called Geilenberg program since 1944 and the code name was "Dachs I". As part of the mineral oil safety plan, nine refinery plants were planned for the Dachs I to IX project. The aim of the project was to build an underground Deurag-Nerag refinery. The prisoners who were used for forced labor came to work from the Porta Westfalica subcamp of the Neuengamme concentration camp. The plant is sometimes also incorrectly referred to as a hydrogenation plant.
