The Reiteralpe cable car is a 2100-meter-long aerial cableway operated by the Military Technology Service for Protection and Special Technology in the municipal area of Schneizlreuth in the Berchtesgadener Land district. The gondola lift runs from Oberjettenberg to the high plateau of the Reiteralpe and serves to supply a military testing area and the "Small Mountain Training Area." The cable car was put into operation in 1965 and overcomes a height difference of 1036 meters. It has only a single support, with the span of the largest span measuring 1980 meters. A special feature of the Reiteralpe cable car is that the cable car cabin can be exchanged in a few minutes for a cargo hangar for transporting large loads. It can transport a maximum of 15 people or 2000 kg of freight.
