The Saure Epscheid nature reserve is located in the North Rhine-Westphalian town of Breckerfeld in the Ennepe-Ruhr district. It was designated with the landscape plan for the Breckerfeld area in 1987 by the district council of the Ennepe-Ruhr district. It is around three hectares in size and includes a stream valley section of the Sauren Epscheid. This is located in a wooded area in the east of the city between the districts of Epscheid and Bühren. In the north, in Hagen city area, the Bachtal Saure Epscheid nature reserve directly adjoins Epscheid.
