The Gerbermühle in Frankfurt am Main, in the district of Oberrad, is a building on the eastern edge of the city, directly on the left bank of the Main River near the floodgate Offenbach located in the district of Kaiserlei and opposite the Frankfurt East Harbor. Likely built around 1520 on the banks of the Weschbach, it originally served to grind grain; since the beginning of the 20th century, it has been a popular excursion destination as a restaurant. Due to its significance in literary history, which it gained as a result of visits by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe in 1814 and 1815, the Gerbermühle is protected as a cultural monument under the preservation of monuments of the state of Hesse.
