The Elisabethen Fountain is one of the most famous fountains in the spa town of Bad Homburg vor der Höhe. The spring and fountain are named after Princess Elisabeth, the wife of Landgrave Friedrich VI of Hesse-Homburg and daughter of British King George III. The water from the fountain is a sodium chloride spring. The water temperature is 10.5 degrees. It has been used to treat stomach and intestinal diseases. For the public, there is a simply designed tapping point within sight – at the edge of the spa park – in close proximity to the road.
