Frankenberger Bank

The Frankenberger Bank was established in 2000 from the merger of the Raiffeisenbank Oberes Edertal eG, Raiffeisenbank eG Frankenberg, Raiffeisenbank eG Frankenau, and Raiffeisenbank Geismar-Haubern eG. In 2003, the Raiffeisenbank Bottendorf eG was incorporated. The founding of the oldest predecessor cooperative took place in 1869 in Dodenau. On October 28, 1961, the general assembly of the Raiffeisenkasse Wangershausen decided to relocate its headquarters to Frankenberg and to incorporate the still uncooperative organized towns of Schreufa, Rodenbach, and Willersdorf into its area. This laid the foundation for a Raiffeisenkasse Frankenberg in the then district town. Today's Frankenberger Bank, Raiffeisenbank eG, has emerged from this Raiffeisenkasse as well as from many small savings and loan associations, threshing and goods purchasing cooperatives of the Ederbergland, which merged and responded to changing economic and market structures with mergers and corrections throughout the 20th century.
