The Köppernitz is a stream located in the area of the municipality of Barnekow and the city of Wismar in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
The river has its source south of Krönkenhagen, a district of the municipality of Barnekow, and west of the A 20. From there, it flows in a northern and then northeastern direction through Groß Woltersdorf and Klein Woltersdorf, passes under the B106, and then flows along the southern and eastern edges of the Bürgerpark in Wismar. It empties into the Baltic Sea in the northern part of Wismar and at the southern tip of the Wismar Bay.
