The Borbecker Mühlenbach is a left tributary of the Berne in Essen with a length of 11.1 kilometers.
The Borbecker Mühlenbach springs from two Siepen in Essen-Bredeney. The stream is channeled under the A52 and the Messe Essen and then flows through the Grugapark. On the park grounds, it feeds into the Margarethen and the Waldsee. Its flow direction is oriented northwest after the Grugapark, where it forms the city boundary between Essen and Mülheim an der Ruhr for about a kilometer. At Essen-Schönebeck, it changes its course to the northeast. Between Altendorf and Bochold, the stream defines part of the district boundary, as well as the southeastern border of the district of Borbeck. In the district of Bochold, the Sälzerbach flows in from the right. The Borbecker Mühlenbach flows into the Berne shortly after reaching the Essen district of Bergeborbeck, west of the Essen stadium.
