The Dinkholder mill near Braubach is a listed watermill that was in operation until 1982. It is located in a valley along the Rhine between Braubach and Osterspai.
In addition to the lower Dinkholder mill, there were three other mills along the Dinkholder brook. The mill was first mentioned in 1277 as a mill "Im Dinkholder" of the Cistercian monastery Eberbach in the Rheingau; the sale of these three mills by the brothers from Osterspai to the Eberbach Abbey is also documented in writing in 1278. In the following centuries, the mill operation experienced various tenants and owners. In 1675, the owner Albert Metz, a carpenter from Wellmich, built a half-timbered house for the mill operation.
