The Volksbank Eifel eG is a cooperative bank based in Bitburg. The business area is located in the Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm, in the district of Vulkaneifel, and in parts of the administrative community of Trier-Land. The bank has about 64,100 customers.
In 1863, the Credit Association for Craftsmen and Farmers was founded. In 1942, it was renamed to the Bitburger Bank Association eGmbH and in 1971 to Volksbank Bitburg eG. In 2002, it merged with the Raiffeisenbank Biersdorf eG, in 2006 with the Raiffeisenbank Neuerburg-Land eG, in 2010 with the Raiffeisenbank Eastern Südeifel eG, and in 2016 with the Volksbank Eifel Mitte eG. Since the merger of Volksbank Bitburg eG with Volksbank Eifel Mitte eG in 2016, the bank has been called Volksbank Eifel eG. In 2022, Volksbank Eifel eG merged with Raiffeisenbank Irrel eG.
