The Hennstedt telecommunications tower is a telecommunications tower built in 1973 by Deutsche Telekom AG in reinforced concrete construction in Hennstedt in the Steinburg district of Schleswig-Holstein.
The tower, built as a type tower of type FMT 2, stands 74 meters above sea level on the Stilker mountain and has a total height of 158 meters. The tower, which is not open to the public, formerly served as a primary network transmitter for RTL and Sat.1 in the analog terrestrial reception system. The telecommunications tower is now used for the distribution of microwave transmissions, as well as for mobile phone broadcasting. From 1987 to 2004, a 22-meter high self-supporting fiberglass antenna cylinder was mounted on the top of the tower.
