The listed post milestone column Neustadt in Sachsen belongs to the post milestones that were erected on behalf of Elector Friedrich Augustus I of Saxony by the land and border commissioner Adam Friedrich Zürner in the first half of the 18th century in the Electorate of Saxony. It is a coat of arms adorned distance column. It is located in the marketplace in Neustadt in Sachsen in the district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains.
The distance column stands almost at its original location on the east side of the Town Hall on the marketplace and bears the year 1729. Until 1888 it stood in front of the Town Hall, was then removed, and relocated to a park in front of the imperial post office. In 1929 it was returned to the marketplace. On Walpurgis Night 1954, the top of the column was destroyed and later restored. During the last restoration following a car accident, the original alignment of the column was also restored.
