Schwalbe II was an underground facility intended for the Braunkohle-Benzin AG by the Nazi arms industry for the production of aviation fuel as part of the mineral oil security plan in the sandstone quarry Niedere Kirchleite near Königstein in the Saxon Switzerland.
In almost five months, from November 1944 to March 1945, about 2000 forced laborers from the concentration camp satellite camps Königstein, Weißig, and Sellnitz constructed a tunnel system for the facility. The word Schwalbe was the code name for high-pressure hydrotreating plants. The production facility was never put into operation.
