The field railway of the soda works in Bernburg is a field railway in Bernburg in Saxony-Anhalt that serves to transport limestone from the company-owned quarry to the soda plant of Solvay Chemicals GmbH. Its track gauge is 900 mm. The approximately two-kilometer long route is single track and electrified.
Limestone has been extracted in the open pit north of the plant since 1925. Initially, transportation was done via a material cableway. The narrow-gauge railway began operation in 1958. It replaced the heavily worn cableway that had been in use after World War II and was partially built on its route. The choice of gauge was therefore also influenced by the cross-section of the existing tunnels.
