The Dessau-Roßlau police station is a police station of the police of Saxony-Anhalt. It is part of the Saxony-Anhalt East Police Directorate and is responsible for the independent city of Dessau-Roßlau with an area of 244.74 km² and 84,606 inhabitants.Status 2012 The building at Wolfgangstraße 25, in which the office is housed, is a listed building.
The death of Sierra Leonean Oury Jalloh, who lives in Germany, occurred on 5 January 2005 during a fire in cell 5 in the basement of the office building. The responsible service group leader was initially acquitted by the Dessau-Roßlau Regional Court in December 2008, but was sentenced to a fine for negligent homicide in December 2012 after being overturned by the Federal Court of Justice and referred back to the Magdeburg Regional Court. This verdict was confirmed in the last instance in 2014.
