The Karow manor house in the village of Karow in eastern Saxony-Anhalt, which belongs to the town of Jerichow, is the castle-like manor house of the former manor of Karow or Carow. The listed complex includes the Karow estate park and several outbuildings. The entire complex is located at the southern end of the village.
In 1574, Joachim von Byern received the Karow manor as a fief. The von Byern family kept Karow for the next hundred years or so. In 1685, the fief passed to Joachim Ernst von Grumbkow, a Brandenburg general, minister of state and court marshal. The von Grumbkow family cared little for Karow. As a result, the buildings fell into disrepair and the manor was burdened with debts. In 1708, Marquard Ludwig von Printzen bought the Karow estate for the sum of 27,000 thalers. Since this was encumbered with 21,680 thalers and von Pritzen assumed this debt burden, he only had to pay 5,320 thalers to von Grumbkow. Marquardt Ludwig von Printzen had the baroque manor house built on the foundation of a previous building.
