Ostramondra Castle is located in the municipality of Ostramondra on a former water castle at the confluence of the Schafau stream and the Krebsbach in the Sömmerda district in Thuringia.
The Counts of Stolberg granted Hans Knauth the knight’s estate and 1700 acres of land in 1461, which provided an economic basis for the maintenance of the water castle.
