The “Lange Haus,” also known as “Raesfelder Hof,” “Delwig's House,” or “Amtshaus,” is a long, two-story gable house positioned at the eaves, originally from the 16th century and remodeled in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries.
The structure is a rectangular building with a basement and two floors made of bricks and dressed stone elements.
The floors are separated by Gothic water strikes. Of the two gables, the south-eastern gable, which fell out in 1941, was rebuilt as a stone gable in 1988.
A coat of arms stone on the north-eastern west wall above a bricked-up door allows for a precise dating of the manor house. The inscription reads: “anno domini 1554 G. V. r.” This refers to Goswin von Raesfeld and his wife Jaspara von Wüllen.
In the 18th and especially in the 19th century, significant renovations were made, such as the installation of new windows. The north-western late Gothic stepped gable was renovated in 1965/66.
The owner of this building was the von Raesfeld family. In 1720, Reinhard von Reede from Holland acquired it. Around 1800, the Lange Haus belonged to the von Delwig family from Nienborg, later to the district administrator Theodor von Heyden, whose son, Otto von Heyden, transferred the building to the municipality of Nienborg in 1882 for 6000 marks.
The municipality established the administrative office, the residence of the bailiff, two classrooms for the Nienborg school, and two apartments for teachers within it. After over 80 years of use as the administrative office, this was moved to Heek in 1974.
Since 1989, after extensive restoration, the building has been used as a communication center by the Landesmusikakademie Heek-Nienborg.
