Allmannshausen Castle is located at Assenbucher Straße 101 in the district of Allmannshausen in the municipality of Berg. It is only separated from Lake Starnberg by road.
In 1517, today's castle was mentioned as a court residence with a wooden manor house. In the 17th century, it belonged to the Imperial Counts of Hörwarth, Augsburg patricians, who acquired it in 1611. The existing castle was built in 1696 by the master mason Caspar Feichtmayr the Elder from Bernried as a three-storey building with a gable roof for Ferdinand Joseph von Hörwarth. In 1881 it was extended to four storeys, a hipped roof, a belvedere on the roof, a portico and a low wing. The façade was designed in the style of the Italian Renaissance. The functional interior does not correspond to the elaborate exterior. The castle is surrounded by a landscaped park.
