The Catholic Church of St. Lioba in the spa town of Bad Liebenzell is a church dedicated to the patronage of Saint Lioba of Tauberbischofsheim.
Catholic services have been held in Bad Liebenzell since 1902. For decades, believers gathered for services at the Adler inn, in the Protestant church, in the old forester's lodge, or in the Marienstift. After World War II, the number of Catholics increased due to the influx of displaced persons and outside workers. During the season, numerous guests stayed in the spa town, leading to a growing desire for their own place of worship. After many failed land negotiations, the Calw parish district was able to acquire a pharmacy along with a garden, the owner of which was particularly keen on the construction of a church. The architect Alfons Leitl was commissioned with the planning for the church, although the auxiliary bishop Wilhelm Sedlmeier had warned the parish about the architect, as he never adhered to the financial framework.
