The power plant built in 1926 and renovated in 1974 is located near Donaustetten at the end of the nearly six-kilometer-long power plant canal Donaustetten, which branches off from the dam north of Ersingen. It is operated by the municipal utilities of Ulm/Neu-Ulm. The head height to the downstream of the Danube is 7.2 meters. The power plant is designed for a flow of 96 cubic meters per second and can also be used in variable operation. The electrical output is 4.5 MW.
