The Little Regen is the left and eastern source river of the Black Regen in the Bohemian Forest in the Klatovy district, Pilsen region in the Czech Republic, and Regen district, Bavaria in Germany.
The source of the Little Regen is located in the Czech Republic in the Šumava National Park at the Medvedí hora mountain in the Roklanský Les. The Little Regen flows northwest, crosses the state border into Germany after about a kilometer, and reaches the Bavarian Forest National Park there. At the foot of the Great Rachel, the Little Regen flows past the hamlet of Schachten at the "Rain Threshold" and then passes through the Frauenau drinking water reservoir. At the point where the Little Regen flows into the reservoir, it leaves the national park. At Zwieselau, it is joined by its largest tributary, the Flanitz. Accompanied by the forest railway and the state road 2132, the Little Regen flows toward Zwiesel. There, it merges as the shorter and less water-abundant source river with the Great Regen to form the Black Regen.
