The Nürnberg-Mögeldorf station is a train station in Nürnberg, located on the Nürnberg–Schwandorf railway line and situated in the Mögeldorf district. It is classified as a station category 5 and features a central platform that is 162 meters long, of which 140 meters have a platform height of 85 cm and can be used for S-Bahn traffic. The service is provided by the S-Bahn line S1, and there is also a connection to tram line 5 and city bus lines 40, 45, and 95 at the Mögeldorf stop on Schmausenbuckstraße.
The stop was opened on May 9, 1859, initially only for passenger traffic, by the Bavarian Eastern Railway AG together with the section Nürnberg–Hersbruck of the Nürnberg–Schwandorf railway line. Freight operations began in 1877, for which the track facilities were expanded and connecting tracks to surrounding industrial enterprises were built. Mögeldorf received further upgrades with the opening of the eastern section of the ring railway on May 1, 1900. Here, a single-track non-electrified line begins towards Nürnberg-Dutzendteich and Nürnberg Marshalling Yard. The last redesign took place in connection with the construction of the first Nürnberg S-Bahn line between 1983 and September 26, 1987, during which a new central platform was created, accessible from the east via a barrier-free ramp and from the west via fixed stairs. The listed reception building from 1858 and the also listed goods shed from 1877 were abandoned and sold by the railway. From March 21 to April 15, 2011, the platform was extended to 140 meters through construction measures in the eastern part, so that double units of the Talent-2 railcars can also stop there.
