The Rubin mine was an iron mine near Sechshelden in the Lahn-Dill district. The mine was located between Sechshelden and Haiger in a wooded area in the upper Schindelbach south of the federal highway 277. Iron was extracted approximately between 1858 and 1872.
The main tunnel was probably less than 40 meters long. Today, the dump of the mine as well as the presumed location of the buried tunnel entrance can still be seen.
