The Sparkassen-Finanzzentrum Erfurt is a complex of office and administrative buildings with supplementary facilities in the Thuringian state capital. It is located in the Brühl district of the Brühlervorstadt neighborhood, bordered to the east by Melanchthonstraße, to the north by Gorki, and to the south by Bonifaciusstraße. The complex is situated 220 meters south of the new theater building, 110 meters southwest of the Brühler Garden, about 190 meters west of the Old Opera, and is integrated into the public transport network via tram lines 2 and 4, with their common stop Sparkassen-Finanzzentrum/Benaryspeicher on Brühler Straße. The underground parking garage Sparkassen-Finanzzentrum, accessible via Bonifaciusstraße, is open for individual traffic.

Between 1992 and 1997, the center was built according to plans by Rüdiger Weingart and the architectural firm Schweger + Partner on a plot of land measuring 18,994 m² – the site of the former seed breeding facility Benary. The construction costs amounted to 70,000,000 Euros. The historically valuable brick buildings located on the property were integrated into the design considerations while maintaining their solitary character. These include the Benary warehouse, built in 1887, which has housed the printing museum and the showcase depot since 2001, as well as the former administrative building of the breeding operation from 1890. The architects' design aimed to emulate the principle of an open building structure, analogous to the characteristic townhouses of the founding period. This typology corresponds to the theme of "houses in the urban park," where the proportions of the surroundings are taken into account and projected onto the area to be developed. At the same time, the Sparkassen-Finanzzentrum is also designed as a "city within a city." Overall, it has a total of 33,978 m² of usable above-ground space and an additional 15,020 m² of usable gross floor space underground.
