The Geo-Naturpark Bergstraße-Odenwald was included in the "International Geoscience & Geoparks Program" of UNESCO in 2015 and therefore bears the "UNESCO Global Geopark" award. It combines a charming landscape that extends over an area of 3500 square kilometers between the UNESCO World Heritage Pit Messel in the north, the Rhine valley in the west over the Odenwald to the construction site in the east and the Neckar valley in the south.
