The Kesseler Mühle, the mill of the Willemsen family, has an eventful history to tell. After the 2nd World War, its use as a sawmill was followed by its use as a meeting place for senior citizens and as a youth room. This was followed by decades of slumber, only to shine all the more beautifully after the fundamental restoration. With his decision in 2000 to restore the mill, the mill owner Walter Willemsen played a significant role in ensuring that Kessel once again has an attractive entrance to the village. The successful restoration is once again a calling card of Kessel in every respect. On the way there, the city, the monument authority and the tourist and local history association were reliable partners and companions.
