On Sengelgraben, Maibach, Aa and Pand
The fact that the area between Maibach, Aa and Pand would one day become the focus of public interest for the small district town was probably not suspected by the Borken city fathers – "city mothers" were not yet known at that time – in their wildest dreams a hundred years ago. But after fierce insistence from the Borkener Zeitung, it came anyway: the city park in honor of Emperor Wilhelm (II). Later, when young people discovered the advantages of such a facility without lanterns, at some point it was just called "Lunapark" ...
But the park was also considered an appropriate place for the city's memorial in memory of the victims of the wars.
