Together with the experts of the Rhede-based company for optical precision equipment "Meade Europe", a public observatory was planned for Borken in December 2002.
Already in May 2003, the "Josef Bresser Observatory" was inaugurated, thanks to the support of Mr. Bresser and the city of Borken. Since then, the Josef Bresser Observatory in Borken (Hoxfeld) has been observing the sky in clear weather.
