Daube is located above the Liebethaler Grund, with a descent into it. The locality has 74 inhabitants, with seniors making up a clear majority. Daube has approximately the settlement form of a round village. In the case of Daube, a fire water pond is located in the middle of the village.
Daube was first mentioned in 1378 as Villa Dube. The name most likely derives from the Slavic language. Through various spellings, such as Dawbe, the present-day Daube evolved. Since ancient times, the village has been incorporated into the parish of Lohmen. In 1547, it belonged to the Hohnstein district. At the beginning of the 20th century, 72 people lived in Daube.
