Village Wehlen

Village Wehlen is a district of the town of Stadt Wehlen in the district of Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge in Saxony.

Village Wehlen is located four kilometers east of the center of Pirna in the northwest of the Saxon Switzerland. Neighboring districts include Stadt Wehlen to the southeast and the Stadt Wehlen district of Zeichen to the south. To the southwest, it borders the Pirna district of Posta, and to the west Mockethal. To the north is Lohmen, and to the northeast is the Lohmen district of Uttewalde. To the east, the fields of Village Wehlen border the forest area Buschholz, which also belongs to the district of Lohmen. The village fields, which make up more than two-thirds of the total municipal area of Stadt Wehlen and extend over a relatively rounded area measuring approximately 3 by 2.5 kilometers, are located almost entirely on the high plateau north of the Elbe's breakthrough valley through the Elbe Sandstone Mountains.
