Basdorf railway station is a station on the Heidekrautbahn. It is located at kilometer 17.4 of the original Berlin-Wilhelmsruh line and is the separation station of the two branches of the Heidekrautbahn to Groß Schönebeck and Liebenwalde. Shortly after the line was put into operation, the station became very important for the railway operation of the Heidekrautbahn.
Basdorf railway station was built in 1901 as a temporary solution, in 1905 its buildings were completed and it officially went into operation. It soon became the operating center of the Niederbarnim Railway, also known as the Heidekrautbahn after one of its termini in the Schorfheide. It was given a locomotive depot and there were supply facilities for steam locomotives. At the station, the line splits between Liebenwalde and Groß Schönebeck.
