The Kleiner Spreewald is a local recreation area in the small town of Uebigau-Wahrenbrück in the Elbe-Elster district in southern Brandenburg. Here it is located on the Kleine Elster, a tributary of the Black Elster, into which it flows a few hundred meters later.
The estuary of the Kleine Elster is characterized by numerous rivers and ditches that run through the floodplain landscape between the two rivers. In 1977, therefore, the small river system near the historic Elster mill in Wahrenbrück began to be navigated with Spreewald barges and developed into a tourist attraction. The first Wahrenbrück ferryman is said to have been the last miller of the Wahrenbrück mill Heinz Linge.
