The monument to Queen Louise Seilershof was built in 1811 at the place where Queen Louise's body was transferred from Mecklenburg to Prussian sovereignty.
Louise of Mecklenburg-Strelitz died on 19 July 1810 at Hohenzieritz Palace at the age of 34 and was to be buried definitively in Charlottenburg, with expressions of sympathy from the population accompanying the transfer of the queen, who was loved by the people. On 25 July 1810, the funeral procession with the royal corps crossed the border between Mecklenburg and Prussia, marked by the Wentow Canal, its bridge and two customs houses. The train was no longer escorted by Mecklenburgers, but by Prussians. The funeral procession changed horses.
