The Kulturpalast Bitterfeld is a former cultural centre and today's architectural monument in the Bitterfeld district of the town of Bitterfeld-Wolfen in the district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The building became known above all in connection with the Bitterfeld Way, which was largely proclaimed here by Walter Ulbricht. The Kulturpalast is considered one of Bitterfeld's landmarks.
In the first half of the 20th century, Bitterfeld developed into a centre of open-cast lignite mining and the chemical industry. After the founding of the GDR, the GDR had cultural palaces and houses built in many cities of the country as central places of social and cultural life, including Bitterfeld from 1952 onwards. Many of the construction work was carried out by local chemical workers on a voluntary after-work basis. The building was opened on 13 October 1954 and was given the name Kulturpalast Wilhelm Pieck.
