The place is located one kilometer northeast of the Elbe, four kilometers southeast of Wittenberge, and nine kilometers north-northeast of the Hanseatic city of Seehausen. It is surrounded by the FFH area Elbdeichvorland, the bird sanctuary Unteres Elbtal, the nature reserve Wittenberge-Rühstädter Elbniederung, the biosphere reserve River Landscape Elbe, and the landscape protection area Brandenburgische Elbtalaue.
Neighboring places include Garsedow to the north, including the local settlement Wallhöfe, and Lütjenheide with the associated settlement Berghöfe, Hinzdorf to the east, Schadebeuster to the south, as well as Losenrade across the Elbe and the state border to the west.
