The Gandower Schweineweide nature reserve is located in the area of the municipality of Lanz and the town of Lenzen in the Prignitz district of Brandenburg.
The area, with identification number 1426, was placed under nature protection by regulation on December 20, 2002. The nature reserve, covering approximately 79.4 hectares, extends south of Gandow, a populated district of the town of Lenzen, and west of Wustrow, a populated district of the municipality of Lanz, along the Löcknitz, a right tributary of the Elbe. The district road K 7035 runs along the western and southern edge of the area, with the Elbe flowing to the west and south, and the state border to Lower Saxony nearby. To the southeast lies the Lenzen-Wustrow Elbe lowland nature reserve, which covers approximately 999 hectares.
