The nature reserve Unstruttal between Nägelstedt and Großvargula is located in the district of Gotha and in the Unstrut-Hainich district in Thuringia. It extends along the Unstrut between the western Nägelstedt, a district of Bad Langensalza, and the eastern main village of the municipality of Großvargula. The country road L 2128 runs along the southeastern edge of the area.
