Holdenstedt is a district of the Hanseatic city of Uelzen in Lower Saxony with around 2,500 inhabitants. The Gerdau flows through the north of the village and the Hardau through the south and east. In the southeast there is a connection to the B4.
Holdenstedt was first mentioned in a document in 1061 and was an independent municipality until 1972. The total number of inhabitants in 1925 was 625, rose to 764 by 1933 and was already 832 in 1939.
