Obernjesa is a locality in the municipality of Rosdorf in the Göttingen district. The widely visible "landmark" of this place is two large sugar silos, which are no longer in operation.
Obernjesa is located on the railway line Göttingen–Friedland–Eichenberg–Hann. Münden–Kassel about seven kilometers south of Göttingen and has been part of the municipality of Rosdorf since the regional and administrative reform in Lower Saxony in 1973. The locality lies on the Dramme, which shortly thereafter flows into the Leine. Obernjesa has around 1000 inhabitants and is thus the second largest locality in the municipality after Rosdorf.
