The Sandesberg, with a height of at least 52 m above sea level, is the highest natural land point in the Nordfriesland district. The summit is located in the municipality of Ostenfeld near Husum, situated about 700 m east of the village exit north of the Schleswig-Holstein state road 37. The Sandesberg is an old moraine and part of a geest ridge of the Bredstedt-Husum Geest. It was left behind at the site during the melting of the glaciers of the Fennoscandian ice sheet during the penultimate glaciation phase, known as the Saale complex.
