The Ostefähre Brobergen is a ferry across the Unteroste, which still exists today, connecting the village of Brobergen on the right bank of the Oste with the lands belonging to Brobergen on the left bank of the river.
Around 1250, the noble family of Brobergen built a castle here on the Oste. A drawbridge led over the Oste. Both were destroyed in the Thirty Years' War. Around 1840, Broberg farmers bought the estate. On the part of the authorities, the farmers were now united in a real association, which was also the owner of the ferry. One of the farmers lived in the manor house and became a ferryman, as most of the land to be cultivated was on the other side of the east. He received a limited liquor license from the Royal Landdrostei, which was only valid for drinks of ferry passengers.
