Momberg is the largest district of the city of Neustadt, after the core city, in the district of Marburg-Biedenkopf in Central Hesse. The place has about 1100 inhabitants and is one of the oldest settlements in Hesse. Winfried Bonifatius has undoubtedly worked here.
Momberg, alongside the neighboring village of Mengsberg, is the northeasternmost place in the district of Marburg-Biedenkopf. About 35 km from the district town of Marburg, Momberg is located approximately in the middle of the hilly landscape between Vogelsberg and Kellerwald. Situated at the Rhine-Weser watershed, the district borders in the east to the district boundary of Schwalm-Eder-Kreis at Wiera, to the north to Mengsberg, and to the west to Speckswinkel. The southern district boundary is adjacent to the city of Neustadt.
