Varenholz is a village in the municipality of Kalletal, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, with a population of 614, according to the most recent data given on the website of the municipality of Kalletal.
The castle of Varenholz is used as a school with boarding school. It is not possible to visit, also of the gardens and parks around the castle. An exception is a part of the castle garden, which descends to the Weser. This somewhat neglected and regularly vandalized site is half a hectare in size. Shortly after the Second World War, the castle and garden were the backdrop for UFA films on several occasions.
