The Kreuzkirche Altenwalde in Cuxhaven-Altenwalde, An der Kreuzkirche 4, is a listed building in Lower Saxony and is included in the list of monuments on the outskirts of the city of Cuxhaven.
It is assumed that before the first stone church, a wooden church from the 10th century stood on this site as a pilgrimage chapel. The former name of the church, St. Cosmas and Damian, is an indication that the Archbishop of Bremen, Adaldag, who equipped all his churches with relics of these two saints around the year 965, also brought them to Wolde.
