Eckardtsheim

Eckardtsheim is a district in the Sennestadt city area of the independent city of Bielefeld in North Rhine-Westphalia and borders Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock and Verl. The district is home to departments of the Von Bodelschwinghsche Stiftungen Bethel.

The city of Bielefeld is not further divided into administrative or political units below the ten districts. Therefore, districts in Bielefeld are only informal sub-areas, whose boundaries usually refer to the area of an old municipality. However, Eckardtsheim has never been an independent municipality, which makes precise delimitation difficult. For statistical purposes, however, Bielefeld is divided into 72 statistical districts. The informal district Eckardtsheim roughly corresponds to statistical district 66 Eckardtsheim. However, the area Heideblümchen, which also counts as part of the statistical district, is often perceived as a separate area that does not belong to Eckardtsheim.
