Aschwarden is a village and a former municipality in the district of Osterholz, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is one of the central places of the Osterstader Marsch. The districts include the villages of Bruch and Hassel.
Aschwarden was first mentioned in a document in 1105. The old fortified church "tom Broke" on Kirchenfleth in the district of Aschwarden-Bruch, today's St. Nicholas Church, was built around 1235 and was restored between 1956 and 1960. In 1800, a post mill was built in Aschwarden by the miller Hayer from Hagen.
