The village, which had 16 inhabitants at the end of June 2018, is located south of the Veischede valley in a source hollow of the Schmellenberger Bach, which runs parallel to the Apollmicke. To the northeast lies the Hofkühl rampart, and on the opposite side of the Veischede is the Jäckelchen Wallburg.
The small village lies on the border of the town of Lennestadt and the town of Olpe, between Kirchveischede and Oberveischede.
